Welcome to the first issue of our new Sahara Care e-newsletter, bringing you news from across the company.


In this edition we will look at the success of the day centre at Sahara Lodge and a visit by the head of Britain’s biggest NHS trust, Sir Stephen O’Brien.

We will also hear news from some of the charity events Terence Brown, our Chairman and Sharon Kaur, Sahara’s Managing Director have attended on the company’s behalf.


Chairman of top London NHS Trust tours flagship care home


The head of the UK’s largest NHS Trust has described the flagship home of Sahara Care as an “extraordinary facility of the highest quality.”

Sir Stephen O’Brien CBE, chair of Barts Health NHS Trust, made the comments during a two-hour tour of Sahara Care’s Parkside Home in Barking, East London, which provides services and care for individuals with a wide-range of complex needs and learning difficulties.

Day centre proves massive success at Sahara Care


When Sahara Care opened a day activity centre in 2011 to help people who could no longer access council-run services, they could never have predicted how successful it would be.

More than four years after opening the centre is booming and is providing new services to local people with a range of conditions including learning disabilities, autism, physical disabilities and mental health issues.

Sahara Care show support for leading London Children’s Hospice


Sahara Care has shown its support for a specialist children’s hospice by making a generous donation.

Richard House was London’s first children’s hospice and supports hundreds of families whose children and young adults are at risk of death from a range of life-limiting conditions.

Theatre Royal names dress circle in honour of devoted care provider


Theatre Royal Stratford East has decided to honour one of its former patrons Jean Brown by naming its dress circle in her honour.

The late Jean Brown was a shareholder in Sahara Care, one of London’s leading care providers, and loved to visit the theatre on a regular basis, until she passed away following a battle with cancer.
